It’s back after the international break!

The 2020/21 Premier League returns after a fortnight away with a huge clash towards the top of the table as Leicester City host Manchester City.

Can the Citizens pull further clear from the chasing pack?

Here are our latest round of Premier League predictions…

English Premier League Predictions

With their hopes of Champions League and FA Cup glory still very much alive, it could be a grandstand finish to the season for Thomas Tuchel and Chelsea – especially if the German can deliver the Blues a top four finish.

The West London side look to be posting the kind of consistency required to see off their rivals in the fight for the top four. They should clean up against a West Brom side that look to be out of touch in the battle for survival. Baggies manager ‘Big Sam’ Allardyce is a man famed for his great escape acts. If he’s going to pull off another one with West Brom, he’s leaving it almighty late.

Leeds Utd have no such concerns about slipping back into the EFL Championship, but they could hasten the return of Sheffield Utd to the second tier of English football with a win in Saturday’s Yorkshire derby.

The game of the day comes in the late afternoon kick off at the King Power.

Leicester City seem unlikely to repeat the slump in form that saw them miss out on a Champions League spot in 2019/20, but a bruising defeat to league leaders Man City might leave even the most confident of Foxes fans slightly nervous about history repeating itself.

It’s been a title defence to forget for Liverpool, but a morale-boosting win at Wolves prior to the international break has helped revive their chances of a top four finish.

Backing those three points up with victory at Arsenal would fill Jürgen Klopp’s side with confidence before a mammoth UCL quarter-final first leg tie in Madrid on Tuesday.

Premier League restart

Sunday’s action starts with a contest at St Mary’s that could see the winner all but omitted from any relegation talk.

Both Southampton and Burnley can’t quite afford to breathe easily yet, but three points in the early kick off for either would substantially calm nerves.

Speaking of nerves, it’s ‘chew your fingernails’ time for Newcastle Utd fans.

A thumping 3-0 defeat at relegation rivals Brighton prior to the break only helped add to the anxiety around Steve Bruce’s tenure with the club. The passionate Geordie fanbase will have to keep faith with their unpopular manager for a little longer at least after he received the dreaded ‘vote of confidence’ during the break.

Jose Mourinho will be hoping his Tottenham Hotspur side smell blood as they look to keep tabs with the top four.

Another defeat for the Magpies could spell good news for Fulham if they can snatch a win over an Aston Villa side showing signs of struggling without star man Jack Grealish. The hosts will be hoping their star midfielder is declared fit in time to torment the Cottagers.

Sunday’s action signs off at Old Trafford with Man Utd aiming to bounce back swiftly from FA Cup disappointment with a win over buoyant Brighton.

The Seagulls significantly boosted their survival hopes against Newcastle but have yet to pick up a single point at the home of the Red Devils since returning to the top flight. The reverse fixture ended in farce back in September as Utd snatched a win at the Amex after the final whistle had been blown, in the most bizarre VAR-related incident in the Premier League to date.

Finally, there’s an EPL double header on Monday night.

Everton will be looking to improve their appalling run at Goodison Park with victory at home to mid-table Crystal Palace, while Wolves could put a dent in the Champions League aspirations of West Ham as the two teams meet at Molineux.
