In the autumn of 2019, Marathonbet announced an annual deal with Basket Zaragoza, who finished in fourth place in the most recent season of the Liga Endesa and became the first basketball team to be sponsored by the bookmaker.
The Aragonese outfit have earned a return to the FIBA Basketball Champions League, after completing one of the most successful seasons of the club’s history, in which they reached the semi-finals of the Liga Endesa.
Founded in 2002, Basket Zaragoza was promoted to the Liga ACB in 2008, when they finished as runners-up in the Supercopa. Since 2010, they have established themselves as one of the top teams in Spanish basketball. The team plays at the Pabellón Príncipe Felipe, which has a capacity of 10,700 and has hosted many sporting events, such as the 1995 EuroLeague Final and the 2005 Copa del Rey Final.
Despite being a relatively new club, Basket Zaragoza have competed in the EuroCup three times, twice challenged for the Supercopa Endesa, competed in the Copa del Rey three times, and twice reached the semi-finals of the Liga Endesa.
