Community Shield

As reigning Premier League champions, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool go up against 2020 FA Cup winners Arsenal for the right to lift the first silverware of the new English football season.

This game looks sure to guarantee goals, as we haven’t seen a 0-0 draw between these two teams for five years.

This traditional curtain raiser to the new campaign is seen as an exhibition game by many, which leaves both managers with some room to experiment as they finalise their preparations before the Premier League returns.

You can’t split these two sides in this one-off trophy match, with both lifting the shield 15 times apiece, but who will run out winners?

Here are our Community Shield betting tips as the big game approaches…

Arsenal vs Liverpool Community Shield Betting Tips

A famous Wembley fightback?

Arsenal have recent history when it comes to beating Liverpool from behind, beating the champions 2-1 in the final weeks of the 2019/20 Premier League.

With both teams likely to be ring rusty this weekend, another comeback win from either side could be on the cards.

Keita to get on the scoresheet?

Keita and Liverpool have never quite clicked since the Guinean star signed for the club from RB Leipzig two years ago. His talent isn’t in doubt, however, with his late-season form post restart suggesting this could be finally be his year.

The 25-year-old netted in Liverpool’s friendly against Stuttgart last week and will be keen to cement himself in Jurgen Klopp’s thinking as the German looks to keep his side on their toes heading into a title defence.

BTTS at Wembley?

The football gods have been kind with this year’s Community Shield, as Arsenal and Liverpool have served up plenty of thrillers over the last few seasons.

This match can often be a low-key affair, but with two attacking sides taking to the pitch, Wembley’s wide-open pitch should test tired legs late in the game.
